"Creativity is the way i share my soul with the world"- Brene Brown
I've been a creative person all my life. As a child I would always be going to work with my Grandad, who was a builder. It was building and creating things that i enjoyed. I would study building plans in his site office and then go off to see the build so i could see how the plans made sense, little did i know at the time that this would be good training for me in the future.
After leaving school i entered the music industry, and enjoyed being in the recording studio and playing drums, both a passion that I'm still involved with today, with most of my weekends away with my band as well as being involved in another business with it's own recording studios. After living the dream for a while, and after our record deal going to the wall it literally was my dad then saying "Now its time to get yourself a proper job" Oh dear I hadn't planned for that, I was sure I was born to be a rock star! (I'm still convinced I was!)
I then managed to get a job in sales, selling photocopiers and fax machines!! Whilst I enjoyed the sales part, photocopiers were not the most exciting thing to be selling. I then got offered, through a friend, a job in the sign industry and have been in the visual display industry every since.
In the last 25 years I have been involved in large corporate signing programs from design, through to manufacture and install for blue chip brands such as Mothercare, Lloyds TSB, CO-OP, Vauxhall and Natwest Bank. I then progressed from the sign industry into Christmas Decorations, and spent five years looking after all aspects for the Christmas displays for Regent Street, Oxford Street, Bond Street, South Moulsham street and in short the rest of the West End of London. Within that time I also worked directly with many retailers for their Christmas displays such as Harrods, H&M, River Island, Banana Republic and GAP London and across Europe. For some of these projects my work was awarded and recognised at The British Sign Awards. As well as Christmas I also managed to get involved with other creative projects in London such as the Faberge Egg Hunt, Childline Telephone box campaign, Hong Kong tourist board ceremony as well as dressing Regent Street with the famous Union Jack flag display!
In 2015 it was time to do things for myself and together with my wife Sharon (See her profile Here) we established At Last Events. I am very passionate about visual display, I get excited when we have to come up with new ideas, I like to push the boundaries and do things different, and make as much impact as we can within the budget we have. After design I also love the manufacture, seeing everything come together ready for install. When it come to the install, I leave it to the wife!!
I am very lucky to work with a great team, and do exactly what I enjoy doing!
